I am running ZA Pro with WinXP.
9 times out of 10 ZAP fails to load properly...
Vsmon.exe loads but the ZAP Icon in the task bar is red with a yellow X in the middle.
In order to get it loaded properly I must:
1) Open Task Manager KILL Vsmon.exe
2) Open Services and start the TrueVector Basic Logging Client,
which starts the TrueVector Internet Monitor
I must manually start ZAP from the Start/Programs menu.
Then all is running ok.
I have already Un-Installed and Re-Installed ZAP several times.
ZoneAlarm Logging Client v2.6.214

I can both understand and appreciate your frustration. I had seen Zone Alarm cause problems with WindowsXP on numerous occasions. My recommendation is to remove it and use one of three solutions.
1. Built in WindowsXP firewall
2. Sygate Personal Firewall (free download from sygate.com)
3. Norton Internet Security Firewall
Those are in no particular order, I'd used them all with XP without any problems and have had good success in preventing unauthorized access with them.
